The
diocese was founded in the year 598
AD.
It is located in the south eastern corner of Ireland, and
comprises most of County Wexford and parts of counties Wicklow and
Carlow. The Catholic population of the diocese is 102,000 (January
2006).

Bishop Brennan launches book
"James
Browne (b.1842) His Life and Episcopal Ministry. Bishop of
Ferns 1884-1917",
a book on the life and times of Bishop James Browne was launched by
Bishop Brennan on Thursday, 25 February in the Irish National Heritage
Centre, Ferrycarrig. The authors of the book,
William and Nicholas Cosgrave are grand-nephews of Bishop
Browne.
