Vocations

prayer "If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire." (St Catherine of Sienna)

is the Director and Coordinator of the programme for vocations to the priesthood in the the diocese of Ferns.  Anyone seeking information about vocations is invited to contact Fr Finn or any of the priests of the diocese.

The main elements of the Vocations Programme are Promotion and Direction.

Promotion:
The primary aim is to heighten the awareness of the priesthood and to present it as an attractive vocational option. Visits by members of the Promotion Team to the sixteen boys and co-educational schools in the Diocese are an integral part of the Vocations Programme.

Direction:
Any individual who has expressed an interest in the priesthood will undergo a period of discernment under the direction of the Vocations Director. This will help potential candidates to grow in their understanding of the priesthood and gain greater clarity of their vocation.

Prayer:
Prayer is a very important aspect in the promotion of vocations and the Church has designated the fourth Sunday after Easter as World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
