Diocese of Ferns
The Master is here and is calling you!
There
are ten hermitages available to individuals or groups who wish to make
private retreats or who just simply want to take time out in a place of
quiet, solitude and peace.
All hermitages are in close proximity to the Monastery Chapel, Prayer
Room and Spiritual Resource Room. Daily Adoration takes place in the
Chapel.
Hermitages can be booked for short or long periods. Three of the
hermitages cater for couples and one is equipped for the disabled. Both
lay and religious provide pastoral ministry services of Spiritual
Direction, a Listening Presence and Soul Friending. Come to a quiet
place and rest awhile!

Message from Sr Marie Dolores O'Brien
Dear Rev. Father We
have recently employed a lay person, Niamh Brennan, as Pastoral
Development Co-ordinator here at St Aidan's Monastery in Ferns. Her
primary role will be to promote the mission, ethos and future vision of
St. Aidan's Monastery and The Family of Adoration. This is an
exciting development for us here at St. Aidan's, together with other
initiatives, the most recent of which has been the opening of our three
new hermitages on 4th September last. This development brings to ten
the total number of hermitages available to those seeking a time of
quiet, stillness and prayer in their lives.
We are hoping that Niamh will be welcome to speak at Masses throughout
the diocese in 2009. This initiative is encouraged and supported by
Bishop Denis and we are confident that it will receive your support
also. Niamh will be in contact with you over the coming months in order
to discuss dates suitable to you.
In prayer and peace,
Sr. Marie Dolores O'Brien
