Opening of Congregational Heritage Centre
Sallyville, which is a listed building has now been extensively renovated and restored
as a Heritage Centre and as a repository for the Archives of the Congregation. The
display in the Heritage Centre tells the story of the foundation and spread of the
Congregation from small beginnings in Wexford to other parts of Ireland, England,
Wales, Australia, Africa and Pakistan.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by a representative group of Sisters from all
parts of the Congregation. Also in attendance were Canon Sean McCarthy, Chaplain
to the convent, Fr James Fegan, Adm, Wexford, Fr Dermot Gahan, CC, Ballaghkeene
as well as the many people associated with the restoration and refurbishment of
the Heritage Centre.
